Doctrine is the most important science of religion:
We study doctrine, because doctrine is the most important religious science of all. Doctrine is more important than morals, doctrine is more important than etiquette, doctrine is more important than acts of worship, and doctrine is more important than transactions, as it is the first duty of the accountable. When a person enters Islam, he must know monotheism before learning Worships. When the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent Mu’adh to the people of Yemen, he said to him: “Let the first thing you call them to do be to unite God Almighty, and if they know that, tell them that God has enjoined five prayers on them.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari in his Sahih, No. [7372]. And Al-Tirmidhi in his Sunan, No. [2901]). The hadith indicated the importance of monotheism, which is the most important topic in the doctrine. The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded the call to correct the doctrine before the call to actions. He prioritized monotheism over the command to pray. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, stayed in Mecca for thirteen years after his mission, calling people to correct the doctrine and to monotheism, and the obligations were not revealed to him except in Medina, which indicates that the first priority of the call is teaching the doctrine, and the first thing that the call is based on correcting the doctrine. A person is not required to do deeds except after correcting the doctrine, in order for all other actions of worship and behavior to be built on the correct doctrine.
Studying the doctrine to correct corrupt belief:
We study the doctrine, to correct our belief, and correcting the belief is a very important matter because the belief is the foundation upon which human deeds are built, and the acceptance of good deeds depends on the integrity of the principles of the belief from polytheism and disbelief. Whoever’s belief is marred by greater disbelief or polytheism is an infidel, and the infidel is not benefited by his good deeds. On the Day of Resurrection, if he does many righteous deeds (a good deed is not accepted unless its doer is a Muslim, and its doer intends to draw closer to God through it, and this deed is in accordance with what God has legislated), then if the doctrine is incorrect, then any deeds that branch from it are invalid. And sayings, as God Almighty said: {If you were to associate, your work would certainly be worthless and you would be among the losers} [Az-Zumar: 65]. And God Almighty said: {And if they had associated partners, what they used to do would have been nullified from them} [Al-An’am: 88], meaning: their deeds would have been worthless, for without correcting the doctrine there is no benefit to deeds.
Learning the correct doctrine protects a person from polytheism:
We study the doctrine because learning the correct doctrine protects a person from polytheism, and forgetting the correct doctrine is a reason for falling into polytheism. The belief that it is free from polytheism or from a disbelief belief is the decisive factor between a person’s eternity in the fire of Hell and salvation from it. God Almighty said: “Indeed, God does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, but He forgives anything less than that to whom He will, and whoever associates anything with God He has invented a great sin” [An-Nisa: 48].
Doctrine is the most honorable and greatest of sciences:
We study belief, because belief is the most honorable, greatest, and highest science, because the honor and greatness of knowledge is according to what is known, and there is no known thing greater than the essence of God Almighty and His attributes, and that is what this science researches.
The correct doctrine increases a person’s fear and distance from sin:
We study the doctrine in order to increase our fear of God. The doctrine contains monotheism, which is knowledge of what God should do and what God should not do. Knowing God is one of the foundations of fear. The more a servant’s knowledge of God increases, the more he fears Him.
We study the doctrine in order to escape from the temptations of desires, and to increase our distance from committing sins. How can a Muslim disobey God when he knows that God sees him, hears him, and watches over him?!
The correct doctrine is protection from suspicions:
We study doctrine; In order to escape from the temptations of suspicions that ripple like the waves of the sea, the world is full of false and destructive doctrines, decadent ideas, and corrupt approaches. In the face of these doctrines, ideas, and approaches, a Muslim must have sound knowledge of the doctrine, and have a correct understanding of it so that he can distinguish the bad from the good. The weak is from the right, and the false is from the right.
Why do we study faith? Let our intention when learning the doctrine, and our goals when learning the doctrine, or among the benefits of learning the correct doctrine be the following:
1- Imitating the messengers in teaching people the doctrine before action. The Almighty said: {And We have certainly sent into every nation a messenger saying, “Worship God and avoid the tyrant”} [An-Nahl: 36], and the Almighty said: {And We have not sent before you Messenger except to him it was revealed that there is no god but It is I, so worship Me} [Al-Anbiya’: 25].
2- Purifying our faith from the impurities of heresy and polytheism, and the servant’s safety from disbelief and polytheism is the basis of salvation from Hell, but complete salvation comes through jurisprudence that corrects words and actions in accordance with the will of God Almighty and the will of His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and saves worship from innovation.
3- Protection from falling into trap and innovation.
4- Knowledge of God, which creates fear of Him, and not falling into disobedience to Him.
5- Rescue from temptations; There is no escape from doctrinal temptations except by learning the correct belief.
6- Fighting false ideological ideas and doctrines.
7- Removing ignorance from ourselves. The invalidity of the claim that faith is sufficient without paying attention to belief: Through our learning the importance of belief, the invalidity of the claim that faith is sufficient without paying attention to belief becomes clear, since faith is not faith unless the belief is correct, but if the belief is not correct, then it is not There is faith and no religion.
Is learning the doctrine necessary? By learning the importance of doctrine, we can answer an important question: Is learning doctrine necessary?
The answer: Yes; Learning the faith is one of the indispensable necessities of man. According to his nature, man tends to turn to a God in whom he believes in supernatural power and complete control over him and the creatures around him. This belief fulfills his innate tendency toward religion and satisfies his inclination. The Islamic faith is based on belief. The correct one is the one that agrees with that common sense, and respects the human mind and his place in the universe.
Is the need for correct doctrine urgent? By learning the importance of doctrine, we can answer an important question: Is the need for correct doctrine urgent?
The answer: Yes, the need for the correct belief is an urgent need. There is no life for the heart, nor tranquility, nor happiness except with the correctness of the belief. If the correct belief is imprinted on the soul of the servant through knowledge of God and His monotheism, love and fear of Him, glorifying His commands and prohibitions, and believing in His promises and threats, then he will be happy in this world and the hereafter, and he will be happy. His society is based on the fact that the soundness of an individual’s behavior is dependent on the soundness of his belief and the soundness of his thoughts, and the corruption of an individual’s behavior is dependent on the corruption and deviation of his belief.
Say goodbye to worry with the right doctrine:
The correct belief relieves the servant of anxiety, nervous tension, and depression. The person with the correct belief believes in the power of God, and that God is in control of the matter, and that God is the Forgiver of sins. If he falls into distress, he calls on his Lord, and He relieves his distress. If he sins, he asks for forgiveness, and God forgives him, and if something happens that saddens him, praise. God and he was restored, because he knows that God is the One who determines, so he does not estimate anything except through wisdom, so he does not become depressed or despair. You will find the person with the correct belief at peace of mind, calm in mind, and calm in his eyes, neither worried nor bewildered, to the point that someone used to say: “We are in happiness. If the kings knew it, they would fight us over it,” and the scholar Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak was asked: “Who are the kings?” He said: The ascetics. They said: Who are the fools? He said: Those who eat with their religion. They said: Who are the fools? He said: Those who improve the world of others by wasting their religion. The servant cannot be saved in the afterlife unless the belief is correct. God Almighty said: {And if they had associated partners, what they used to do would have been lost to them} [Al-An’am: 88]. Therefore, the need for correct doctrine is urgent.
Paying attention to doctrine does not mean neglecting jurisprudence:
Our focus and attention on faith does not require us to neglect jurisprudence and ethics. Because Islam is a belief and a practice.
Effects of the loss of the Islamic faith:
After we learned the importance of the doctrine and the benefit of learning it, and the reason for the interest in studying it, we come to an important topic, which is: the effects of the loss of the Islamic faith among the nation. There is no doubt that the doctrine that a person holds has an impact in directing his behavior and actions, and that any deviation in this doctrine, or loss For this doctrine, it appears in man’s practical and moral life, and thus has a tangible impact on the life of society. Because we cannot separate society and its individuals.
Among the effects of the loss of the Islamic faith are the following:
1- A distressed living: People suffer from psychological anxiety and turmoil, and are deprived of tranquility of the heart and tranquility of the soul. The Almighty said: {And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, for him will be a distressed living, and We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection} [Taha: 124]. If a person has a flaw in his belief in God, and his belief in destiny and destiny is flawed, how can he be satisfied with God’s destiny and destiny? He does what he wants. There is no belief in God that will deter him. He does not live for a purpose. If a person believes in his Lord and adheres to His law, He will grant him happiness and stability and make his affairs easy for him. Even if only the lowest necessities of life are available to him, and if he disbelieves in his Lord and is arrogant in worshiping Him, he will make his life He is distressed, and he is overwhelmed with worries, even if he has all the means of comfort and types of luggage. We see a large number of people committing suicide in countries that have guaranteed their individuals all means of luxury. We see extravagance in types of furniture and types of travel in order to enjoy life, and the motive for extravagance in this is the heart’s absence of Faith, feeling distressed and distressed, and trying to dispel this anxiety through changing and innovative means.
2- Excessive selfishness among people: Every person is concerned with his own interests, even if this interest harms others. A woman who is adorned, for example, likes to show off her charms among people, and she does not care about the effect of this display on her Muslim brothers, so she wastes herself with God’s punishment for her, intending to cause discord among her brothers. Muslims or not, this act itself is a cause for sedition, and the language of the situation is evidence of the falsehood of the article.
3- The spread of crime among people: Every person who likes to take revenge on someone takes revenge, and religion does not deter him.
4- Corruption of society: With the corruption of individuals in society, society as a whole is corrupted.
5- The large number of suicides in order to get rid of life: Most of the people who commit suicide are not among the poor, so it can be said: because of their poverty, but rather among the rich and affluent, and among doctors, and even among psychiatrists who are thought to bring happiness to people!
6 – The spread of hatred and hostility among people: due to the destabilization of the doctrine of predestination and destiny in their hearts.
7- The spread of illusions and fears among people: People fear for their worldly lives because of polytheism, so you see some people believing in a created servant what is permissible only for God.
8- The person lives unjustly to himself: unjust to those around him, both humans and creatures. He does not know who has rights over him. If on the Day of Resurrection everyone who wronged him, whether human or animal, will stand up in his face, asking his Lord to retaliate against him, for he who does not know the Islamic doctrine will be mocked. His soul is for something other than what it was created for, and he does not worship his Lord, rather he worships other desires, and injustice is placing something in a place other than its place, and what injustice is greater than directing worship to someone who does not deserve it?
9- Disappointment and loss befall those who do not know the Islamic faith: The person has lost what hearts and souls enjoy, which is knowledge of God and being intimate with Him and being at peace with Him, and has lost the world. Because he lived a miserable and confused life in it, and he lost his self, for which he was gathering, because he did not harness it for what it was created for, and he was not happy with it in this world because it lived wretched, died wretched, and will be resurrected with the wretched.
10- Deprivation of true life: The human being worthy of life is the one who believes in his Lord, knows his purpose, is clear about his destiny, and is certain of his source, so he knows that every person has his right, so he does not overlook his rights and does not harm any creature, so he lived the life of the happy, and attained the good life in this world and the hereafter. The ruling on learning belief: After we have learned the importance of belief and the effects of its loss, we come to an important issue, which is the ruling on learning belief, and the matter of belief is the same as jurisprudence. Among the doctrine is what is an individual obligation, and some of it is a sufficient obligation like jurisprudence, so the rule is: (Knowledge is subordinate to the known), so knowledge The knowledge by which one achieves the fulfillment of an obligation is an obligation, the knowledge by which one achieves the fulfillment of an obligation is obligatory, and the knowledge by which one achieves the establishment of the Sunnah is a Sunnah.
The doctrine, which is an individual obligation, is learning what belief is not valid without, such as belief in the six pillars of faith in general, and the doctrine, which is a sufficient obligation, is knowing these six pillars in detail, with their evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah, and knowing the suspicions of the opponents and responding to them.
